The great legal eagle worked under the guidance of the country’s best divorce barrister, Baroness Fiona Shackleton of “Steel Magnolia”, who represented Charles in his split with Diana, and Sir Paul McCartney.
Ms Costley relishes her fierce reputation and said all women should have a secret “go bag” fund in case they leave a relationship quickly.
Loose Women presenter Ruth, 64, reached out to her a few months ago as she seeks to end her 14-year marriage to Eamonn with a financial settlement.
The GB News presenter’s spending spree since their split is likely to come under the spotlight in the divorce case.
Yesterday, he and new girlfriend Katie Alexander were pictured together during a stop on their romantic cruise.
Eamonn was seen playfully patting Katie’s bottom in a public display of affection as they headed out for a night out in Ibiza Town on Friday.
Yesterday, they continued shopping on the stone streets of the capital.
Divorced mum Katie was recently seen driving a £50,000 Mercedes and wearing expensive jewellery.
As the couple stepped off their cruise ship on Friday night, she turned heads in £665 Christian Louboutin shoes, a sleek £315 plunging Nadine Merabi black dress, an £850 handbag from Spanish luxury designer Loewe and a £4,200 vintage Alhambra bracelet of five motifs.

Eamonn is believed to be using a lawyer, Rachael Somerset, from London-based firm Level.
They will face Fladgate’s Miss Costley, described by high society magazine Tatler as “needle sharp”.
Her firm’s website profile reads: “I’m on Midult.com’s Top 23 Divorce Lawyers list, where I’m described as ‘calm, methodical, thoughtful and kind’ but also ‘progressive’ and ‘fierce.’ . “
Ms Costley worked for nine years at Payne Hicks Beach alongside Baroness Shackleton.
The peer was nicknamed Steel Magnolia for her charm and determination after securing a divorce settlement from Charles in 1996.
That year she acted for Prince Andrew during his split from Sarah, Duchess of York.
Baroness Shackleton also represented Sir Paul McCartney and his ex-wife Heather Mills was drenched in a jug of water in court in 2008.
Meanwhile, Ms Costley has already advised women to have a secret fund in case they need to end the relationship quickly.
She said: “My main advice would be that everyone should have a ‘go bag’.
“It doesn’t matter how much or how little money you have, make sure you always have some cash and, ideally, your own savings.”
She added: “Love is incredible, we enter relationships when we are full of hope, in good faith, but you never know what will happen.”

They released a statement saying: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed that their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Yesterday Ruth, mum to their son Jack, 22, took part in a charity Walk of Remembrance in Cobham, Surrey, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
A source said: “Ruth is putting her best foot forward and holding her head high.
“Of course, she hired one of the best lawyers in the business so she could protect her future after decades of hard work in the industry.
“However, she was shocked by Eamonn’s public display of love for Katie and feels hurt by it.”
The source added: “Katie drives a £50,000 Mercedes and is dressed head to toe in designer clothes on the cruise.

Ruth took part in yesterday’s charity walk for her mother Joan (93), who has Alzheimer’s disease and is in a nursing home.
Ahead of the fundraiser, the star said: “There’s a huge sense of community, everyone is walking with a purpose, whether it’s those you love, those you’ve lost or those living with dementia.”
She added: “I will be walking for my mum Joan who lives with Alzheimer’s and in memory of my dad Dennis.
“You feel a part of something that helps you make a difference.”
On Friday night, Eamonn and Katie disembarked Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady in front of hundreds of tourists after a delay caused by bad weather at sea.
Onlookers in Ibiza said the new couple looked “very much in love”.
Katie, wearing a thigh-length black dress, was seen stepping forward to support Eamonn in his electric wheelchair, which he uses after back surgery.
He pulled Katie close and they shared a tender look.
She also took pictures of how she organizes their transportation.
And while they waited for an hour for the minibus, Eamonn was overwhelmed by female fans asking for selfies.
One tourist said: “They look like a couple, enjoying the holiday spirit together and she’s obviously very attentive to him.”
Eamonn and Katie were then whisked off with some friends to enjoy the sunset at the harborside Mariner restaurant where red wine is on the £500 menu.

Eamonn, in a smart jacket and white trousers, was kicked out of the minibus before being wheeled into the restaurant.
The pair spent two hours eating and drinking before being returned to the ship at 11.30pm.
Yesterday, the couple went on a second night out in Ibiza Town, with Katie glowing in a white patterned dress, sunglasses, sun hat and hoop earrings as they explored the shops and bars.
Eamonn was dressed in aviator sunglasses, a blue short-sleeved shirt and white trousers.
A source said: “Katie is living her dream.
“She couldn’t be happier strutting the streets of Ibiza with her new man.”
But Ruth’s friends have confirmed she feels hurt by the way Eamonn is now openly flaunting his relationship with Katie.
Since joining the £15,000 seven-day Mediterranean cruise in Barcelona last Sunday, he has been chatting to some of the other 2,800 passengers and posing for photos with fellow guests.
For the “Scarlet” themed night on board, Eamonn wore red heart sunglasses and posed with women wearing red wigs.
One passenger said: “They had a great time and were both very chatty. His partner is beautiful. He told me he couldn’t walk because he had an operation on his back and it went wrong.”

Other stops on the cruise included Toulon in France, Carrara in Tuscany and Rome. He should end up in Barcelona today.
Ruth and Eamonn shared a £3.5m five-bedroom home in Weybridge, Surrey, where she has remained since the split.
Eamonn moved into a nearby flat.
The Sun on Sunday revealed in June that Katie, a relationship therapist, and Eamonn had been on outings together, including a Beyoncé concert, a safari park and Manchester United matches.
Katie — who has also been on trips to Belfast where Eamonn has friends and family — met him on social media in 2015 after commenting on a post that sparked the conversation.
Speaking about his split from Ruth at the TRIC Awards in June, Eamonn said: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”
