On November 22, 2023, around 50 commandos of IT (Income Tax) officials raided the residences of Malla Reddy, his sons Mahender Reddy and Bhadra Reddy, son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, relative Praveen Reddy and some of his close persons. The aides include Trishul Reddy, Raghunath Reddy and Santosh Reddy from Hyderabad and adjoining areas. According to reports, Rs 2 crore cash was recovered from the house of Trishul Reddy and Rs 280 crore was found at the house of Raghunath Reddy in Jeedimetla.
Malla Reddy alleged that the CRPF officers accompanying the IT officers also beat up his son Mahender Reddy, who was later admitted to the hospital for treatment due to chest pain; however, on January 18, 2023 On Sunday, Malla Reddy apologized for his behavior during the raid and said he was traumatized at the time and believed CRPF officials had beaten his son.
False claims about education, age and income
Ahead of the 2023 Telangana legislative elections, Medhal resident Kandadi Anji Reddy submitted a counter-affidavit to the Election Commission of India (ECI) against Malla Reddy (Malla Reddy) Election Affidavit. Angie alleged that Marra falsely stated his educational qualifications on multiple occasions in his election affidavits for different elections. Angie claimed that before the 2014 general elections, Malla Reddy claimed in his affidavit that he passed Intermediate (12th standard) in 1973 from Government Junior College, Patni, Secunderabad.
Ahead of the 2018 Telangana legislative elections, he announced that he passed Intermediate (12th standard) in 1973 from Wesley Boys Junior College, Secunderabad. Ahead of the 2023 Telangana legislative elections, he announced Laxmi Devi passed Intermediate (12th Standard), Secunderabad Junior College, 1973, Govt. Angie also said that in the 2014 affidavit, Mala Reddy declared his age to be 56 years old, and in the 2018 affidavit, he declared his age to be 65 years old.
Angie further claimed that the Malla Reddy couple, as principals of Malla Reddy University, were entitled to salaries and assets; however, Malla did not declare income from the university in his affidavit. He asked the ECI to check Malla’s affidavits from different elections and reject his candidature.
“Animals” movie preview event
On November 27, 2023, for the Bollywood movie “Animals” starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Anil Kapoor 》 held a pre-release event. During the event, Malla Reddy said that Telugus will rule Bollywood and Hollywood in 5 years and Ranbir Kapoor will also shift to Hyderabad within a year.
