A man who resisted his arrest after police hurried to “stop the child attacked” in the house died.
Officers were invited to the High Street at South Norwood in London on Sunday at 1.27am after a report that the child was attacked.
After entering the property, police found a 45-year-old man suffering from a medical situation.
Police say he was very upset and actively resisted the police officers.
The 45-year-old was later restrained and called paramedic.
However, once the paramedics arrived and was transported to an ambulance, the man got along seriously.
Although transported to the hospital, he later died despite the best efforts of medical experts.
Commander Andy Brittain, who supervises the answer to this incident, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of a man who died.
“We will ensure that they are fully supported.
“I know the community in southern Norwood will want to convince the incident that the incident is appropriately active.”
Police confirmed that the men were not informed by the next genus.
Brittain commander continued: “IOPC conducts an investigation to provide this independent supervision.
“We must also admit the impact that incidents like this have on the officials involved.
“In this case, they responded to an emergency call that included a child in danger and upon arrival at the scene, encountered a very challenging situation.
“No officer ever wants to be involved in an incident in which one loses his life and we will ensure that they receive all the necessary support.”
Metropolitan police have confirmed that a recommendation was addressed to an independent police behavior (IOPC) and that the MET Directorate for Professional Standards was aware of the case.
In a statement, Met said: “The recommendation in these circumstances is not an indication that it is believed that the officers have done anything wrong.
“It is a must -take when someone dies or suffers serious injuries after contact with the police or while in custody.”
