Man in his 50s dies after ‘altercation’ at Tesco car park as cops launch murder probe with three people charged

A MAN has died after an “argument” in a Tesco car park.

Officers have launched a murder investigation – three have been charged following an outbreak of violence in Hertford on Saturday 4 November.

Hertfordshire Police said they were called to a Tesco car park at around 8.15pm to reports of an “altercation” between a group of people.

The victim, aged 50, was seriously injured.

He was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately he died on Thursday afternoon. November 9.

All participants in the incident knew each other, the police said.

The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Injury Unit (MCU) has now launched a murder investigation after charging all three with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Detective Inspector Iain MacPherson said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very difficult time and we ask that their privacy be respected.

“Three people have been charged in connection with this incident and have been remanded in custody before being brought to court.

“In the meantime, we continue to investigate the circumstances of what happened and once again call on all witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who may have been driving in the area with a dashboard camera fitted to view their footage and contact us if you have captured anything noteworthy.

“I understand that this news will cause great concern to the local community.

“We believe those involved are known to each other and are treating this as an isolated incident.
