One TikTok couple is sharing one of the simpler ways they show their love to each other.
Holly Burt shared a short video on her TikTok page on February 24, showing her waiting by her window for her husband to pass on a London double-decker bus – so he could greet her on his way home from work.
“Every night my husband comes home from work, calls me from the bus and wants me to wave to him from our living room,” Burt captioned the clip of her husband waving as the bus drove past their house heading down a busy street. She uploaded the sweet clip to none other than ABBA’s “Waterloo.”
“I married a golden retriever,” she jokingly wrote in the description.

For the uninitiated, a “golden retriever boyfriend” refers to “a significant other who is laid-back and makes it easy to maintain a happy and fulfilling relationship” — at least according to Urban Dictionary.
This trending term took off on TikTok in 2023, and couples discovered new ways to refer to their partners as “golden retrievers.” NFL star Travis Kelce was considered by many to be one of them when his old posts on Xu (formerly Twitter) started making the rounds, due to spelling errors and wholesome nature.

The cute couple’s video quickly went viral on the video-sharing app. Since it was posted, Burt’s video has garnered more than 20 million views, as well as 2.7 million likes and thousands of comments — many of them coming from TikTok users who raved about the pair’s sweet relationship.
“The greenest flag,” wrote one commenter.

“He’s asking you to come to the window… Ma’am, you’re a golden retriever,” joked another.
“You need to record as much as you can and make an edit,” another TikTok user recommended to Burt. “Imagine watching that when you’re both 80!”
