Raul Torras Martinez, belonging to Spain’s Sant Hilari Sacalmo, was killed in a crash during the opening Supertwin race of the 2023 Isle of Man TT.

The accident occurred on the third and final lap of the race, at Alpine, between miles 16 and 17.

At the age of 14, Raul Torras bought his first motorcycle, a moped, PUCH X-10 49cc. He always wanted to ride and compete for a Top 20 finish in the 1000cc TT class.

In his first outing to the Isle of Man, Raul finished 6th in the Newcomers A race and 23rd in the Senior MGP at the 2016 Manx Grand Prix.

Later the following year he decided to race the TT, becoming the first Spaniard to do so since Antonio Maeso in 2013.

His first appearance at the TT proved to be overly successful as he finished all 3 races; 29th in Senior, 30th in Superbike and 33rd in Superstock, and took home the bronze medal in each.

He became the 2nd fastest Spaniard on the Mountain Course with a time of 122.534 mph.
