Manasi Sudhir is an Indian actress who works primarily in the Kannada film industry. She is also a professional Bharatanatyam dancer. Manasi is best known for playing the title character’s mother Kamala in the Kannada action thriller Kantala (2022) directed by Rishab Shetty.

Manasi Sudhir was born in Udupi, Karnataka. She studied at TA Pai English Medium School in Udupi and graduated from Government First Grade College in thenkanidiyuru, Karnataka. She then pursued her MA in English Literature from Prajna College, Udupipurna.

On June 12, 2006, Manasi married Sudhir Rao Kodavoor, a dance teacher at Nrityaniketana Kodavoor, a Bharatanatyam dance institution in Udupi, Karnataka. Manasseh and her husband are both co-directors of the agency. They have a daughter named Surabhiputti.

While Manasi was studying in college, she was offered a role in a Kannada film titled Ramya Chaitrakala (2006), directed by director Sunil Kumar Desai. In an interview, Manasi while talking about her journey as an actor said:
This is a small part and I accepted it out of sheer curiosity. After Desai saw me acting, he immediately offered me the second lead role in the film. “
In 2009, Manasi appeared in the Kannada film Shankara Punyakoti. She later appeared in many Indian Kannada films, including Ammana Mane (2019) and Katha Sangama (2019). In 2022, Manasi appeared in Rishab Shetty’s critically acclaimed thriller Kantala. In this film, she played the role of Kamala, the mother of the protagonist Kaadubettu Shiva.

Facts/Trivia
- Manasi’s father was a friend of the famous Kannada poet Jayant Kaikini. He once invited Manasi to sing in a show in Mangaluru. Jayant Kaikini also suggested to Manasi’s father to cast her in films as he felt she had an expressive face and voice. Later, she became a trained artist and performed at Carnatic vocal concerts.
- Apart from acting, Manasseh also has a singing career. However, due to a minor accident, her vocal cords were damaged and she had to give up.
- Manasi and her husband run a dance institute called Nrithya Nikithana Kodavoor in Udipi. Manasi and other members of the agency performed Nritya Saurabh at Byndoor on March 29, 2021.
- When Manasi is not filming any films, she travels with her dance troupe and showcases her choreography in several theater performances and events.
- Manasi is a pet lover and her favorite animal is a cat.
- On June 13, 2011, Manasi created a YouTube channel to upload videos of her singing. She has over 150,000 subscribers.
