Mandy Moore has skin problems while waiting for the birth of her third child.
The This is us The 40-year-old star revealed on her Instagram stories that she has a skin condition called melasma, which developed during her third pregnancy, E! News.
On June 30, Moore shared a photo of herself lying with her eyes closed while rubbing the Lyma laser on her temple. The device is said to have “unsurpassed results on signs of aging, wrinkles, rosacea, pigmentation, skin elasticity and scarring,” according to the company’s website.
“Pregnancy melasma is a pit,” Moore wrote on the post. “Heard @lymalife can help.’

According to the Cleveland Clinic, melasma is a harmless skin condition that causes brown or blue-gray patches or “freckle-like spots” on the body. The marks most often appear on the cheeks, nose, chin, upper lip and forehead.

The website states that the condition is common among pregnant women, with 15-20% expecting to experience melasma during pregnancy.

In May, Moore announced with a joint post on Instagram that she and her husband Taylor Goldsmith are expecting a baby girl.
“Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our very own big three is coming soon,” the couple captioned the post, referring to Moore’s on-screen children on her hit NBC show.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE last month, Moore discussed how her current pregnancy is different from her previous two. The singer and actress said she was “just chasing two wild little ones” this time. “So that’s the biggest difference,” she added.
