Mandy Moore tells trolls to ‘f*** off’ after backlash over LA wildfire GoFundMe set up by pal Hilary Duff’s husband

MANDY Moore has told trolls to “screw you” after asking for donations to help her relatives who lost their home in the LA bushfires.

The This Is Us star has hit back online after facing backlash for sharing a GoFundMe campaign for her brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Despite losing part of her own home, Moore faced criticism online, with some accusing her of not doing enough to help her family financially.

“People asking if we’re helping our own family or crediting the arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or compassionate,” Moore said in an Instagram post.

“Of course we are. Our friend Matt started this GoFundMe, and I’m sharing it because people have been asking how I can help them.

“We just lost most of our lives in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”

The GoFundMe, started by Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma, has nearly reached its $145,000 goal, with actor Zachary Levi contributing $10,000.

Moore’s sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Griffin, lost their home and possessions, including Griffin’s collection of drums and percussion instruments, from which he made a living.

The tragedy comes just weeks before the couple is due to welcome their first child.

“It’s all so much. Many have been wondering how to help during this unimaginable and stressful time… Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild,” Moore wrote.

The wildfires raging in Los Angeles have caused chaos across the city, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

Strong Santa Ana winds, with gusts over 70 mph, fanned the flames, making it nearly impossible for firefighters to contain the blazes.

More than 180,000 residents were forced to evacuate, and thousands of buildings were reduced to ashes.

At least ten have been confirmed dead, although officials fear the number could rise as crews begin searching the rubble.

The fires hit celebrity neighborhoods particularly hard, with stars like Mel Gibson, Bella Hadid and Paris Hilton losing their homes.

Others, like Mark Hamill and Tom Hanks, narrowly escaped destruction, their properties standing among charred ruins.

The economic toll of forest fires is incredible, and the damage estimate is as high as 150 billion dollars.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has deployed more than 1,400 firefighters, with additional teams arriving from neighboring states, but the battle to contain the flames is far from over.

This year’s wildfires have again highlighted the vulnerability of even the most affluent areas of Los Angeles to nature’s fury, leaving thousands homeless and entire communities devastated.

Moore’s own home in Altadena, which she shares with husband Taylor Goldsmith, was partially burned but “miraculously” is still standing.

But the garage, back house and music studio belonging to Goldsmith and Griffin were reduced to ashes.

“Everyone we know has lost everything. Every house on our street is gone,” Moore wrote, adding that she was struggling with “a strange sense of survivor’s guilt.”

The tragedy struck a chilling parallel with Moore’s role This is uswhere her character’s family loses their home in a fire.

Co-star Milo Ventimiglia also lost his home in the wildfires, calling the situation a surreal case of “life imitating art.”

Despite the criticism, many fans have rallied around Moore, calling for empathy and compassion.

One supporter wrote: “If you don’t want to donate, don’t, but try to lead with empathy.”
