Manila Pradhan was born in 1995 (24 years old in 2019) in Namchi, South Sikkim. She has loved modeling and acting since she was a child, and has always wanted to be famous in the entertainment industry. Manila graduated in Pharmacy from Himalayan College of Pharmacy, Sikkim. After graduation, she moved to Mumbai to pursue acting and theater courses.

Manila began her modeling career in 2019 by participating in the modeling reality show “MTV’s Next Top Model.” She auditioned three times before finally getting a confirmation call from the show’s producers. Even though she’s not a professional model, Manila impressed the judges in the show’s first episode. Ultimately, she won the title of “MTV’s Supermodel of the Year” in the dazzling finals on March 15, 2020. She beat Drisha More and Priya Singh to win the beauty pageant title. After winning the beauty pageant, she said:

- Manila wanted to pursue a career in fashion design, but she graduated in pharmacy; because her parents asked her to do so.
- Initially, her parents were opposed to her decision to pursue modeling as a career. It took her about a year and a half to convince them and gain their support. She said,
I had a hard time convincing my parents and it took me a year and a half to get their support. I never really had the opportunity to break away from myself until I started acting and modeling. I’ve been thinking, is it possible? Even when I was studying pharmacy, I felt doubtful and confused. “
- When Manila received the confirmation call for “MTV’s Next Top Model of the Year,” she was so excited that she arrived at the filming location eight and a half hours before filming began.
- During her audition for “MTV’s Next Top Model,” Manila shared that she had been rejected many times in her life. At one point, even one of her extended family members told her parents that she would never achieve anything in her life.
