- Manjot said in an interview that he was initially rejected from auditioning for the Hindi film “Oye Lucky!” Lucky Oye! (2008). He said,
I had never acted before, not even in a school play. My parents took me to audition for Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! After the audition, the casting director turned me down for the role. However, Dibakar Banerjee insisted on casting me and even though the casting director didn’t believe it, I just stood firm. “
Later, to prepare for the role, Manjot (who played the young Lucky Singh in the film starring Abhay Deol) traveled to Manali, Himachal Pradesh, for a week-long acting workshop. He took after Indian actor Abhay Deol’s walking style and even used cheek pads to make his chin look like Abhay Deol’s.
