Teaching assistant recruitment exam flawed

On June 30, 2021, a bench of Justice Manoj Misra and Justice Dinesh Pathak sought a reply from the Uttar Pradesh government regarding errors in the question paper of the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination. Some questions in the question paper are outside the syllabus and have incorrect answer options. The examination is for the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The division bench ordered the appellant to file an affidavit within the next two weeks stating whether the questions in the question paper were wrong or outside the syllabus. Later, Abhishek Srivastava along with 14 others filed a special complaint stating that the key answers to some questions were incorrect and some questions were beyond the syllabus and demanded that the marks for these questions be either excluded , or all candidates must obtain the same score for these questions.

Petition against VIP Darshan dismissed

In 2021, Gajendra Singh Yadav, a self-confessed devotee of Lord Shiva who had been visiting the Sri Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, filed a public interest litigation (PIL) alleging that the temple board’s decision to set up a system of Sugam Darshan was an infringement fundamental rights under Articles 14, 15, 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India. He said the Sugam Darshan Board provides special facilities only to those who pay a certain fee, making it impossible for the common man to carry out religious activities and exercise his right to worship. Vineet Sankalp, one of the members of the Board of Directors, drew the attention of the court to Section 15 of the 1983 Act, under which the Board shall exercise all such powers including charging fixed fees for the performance of any worship, service, ceremony, ceremony or religious observance in the temple . Vineet Sankalp said that the Sugam Darshan scheme has been formulated to allow physically disabled people and those who cannot queue up to enjoy the right to worship, but it does not exclude ordinary worshipers from carrying out religious activities. On December 2, 2022, a bench of Justice Manoj Misra and Justice Sameer Jain dismissed the petition filed against VIP darshan under the Sugam Darshan scheme of Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
