Miley Cyrus’ Cameo with Matt Damon and More! All About Those Wild Twists in Drive-Away Dolls

Dolls for takeaway it has many of the twists, turns and zest that classy fans might expect from an Ethan Coen-directed film. Case in point: among the star-studded cast is a wildly famous cameo that wasn’t featured in the film.

Miley Cyrus is in the middle of the blockbuster sequences in the dark comedy-thriller (in theaters now), which stars Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan as a cross-country lesbian couple unwittingly spilling sensitive materials in their tow truck.

The origins of these materials in the woman’s trunk are gradually teased throughout the film, which spans between road trips and the criminal shenanigans of a sinister character played by Colman Domingo and his thugs, played by Joey Slotnick and CJ Wilson.

It turns out that they all work for an up-and-coming US senator named Gary Channel, played by none other than Matt Damon.

In the spotlight are Beanie Feldstein as a policewoman, Bill Camp as a ride-hailing specialist and Pedro Pascal.

The latter actor plays a particularly shocking role in Dolls for takeaway‘ twists and turns as — spoiler alert — a collector of sex toys made from the genitalia of powerful men. Said men will stop at nothing to conceal the existence of said toys.

Shortly after Pascal, who is listed on IMDb as just a collector, is introduced in the film, he is stabbed with a wine corkscrew and his severed head ends up in a hat box.

As seen in one of the film’s trailers, Cyrus, 31, makes her first appearance in one of the colorful sequences that highlight Dolls for takeaway‘the scene changes. Dressed in flowing robe-like clothing, her hippie look is completed with long blonde hair and bangs. Her character’s name is Tiffany Plastercaster — an homage to real-life artist Cynthia Plaster Caster, as Coen and co-writer Tricia Cooke revealed in an interview with Wrap.

Not long after Qualley and Viswanathan’s characters find out that they happen to be in possession of the famous senator’s most absurd blackmail possible—a steel briefcase full of phalluses, plus the Collector’s severed head in a hatbox—a seemingly aged Damon is then seen in bed with Hannah Montana star in flashback.

As the Oscar winner, 53, writhes in pleasure in an apparently drug-induced haze, Cyrus can be seen straddling him and mouthing assurances that the two will be together forever. Although nothing below the waist is shown, it becomes clear that Tiffany is making a cast of his penis for what will become one of the briefcase sex toys.

Cooke said Wrap that naming Cyrus for her cameo was a perfect fit because the Grammy winner is “into her phalluses” and reportedly “has a whole room dedicated to phalluses.”

“I told her about Cynthia Plaster Caster, ‘I don’t know if you know. Your character is based on Cynthia,’ Cooke told the newspaper. “She says, ‘I thought that’s why you called me.’ Much affection to Cynthia Plaster Caster.”

Dolls for takeaway at the head are Coen and Cooke, who was married to Fargo director since 1990 and editor of many of his films.

Speaking to Collider about their collaboration on Dolls for takeawayfirst created years ago, Cooke said that while her husband and his brother Joel “make high-level movies … we make low-intelligence movies.”

The joint work of the brothers includes 1998 The Big Lebowski and in 2013 In Llewyn Davis, among others. In recent years, they began working separately, with Joel Coen directing in 2021 The Tragedy of Macbeth solo.
