My mother is from Uttar Pradesh and my father’s roots are in Pakistan. I have spent a lot of time in Punjab since we have relatives in Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Ambalakant in Haryana. After my father passed away, as the eldest son, I had to take care of the auto parts business. But, after I married my two sisters, I handed over the business to my brother and moved to Mumbai in 1994 with my wife, two children and my mother. “

Manoj met actress Seema Bhargava when he was working as a theater artist in Sambhav Group. Soon they became friends and fell in love with each other. On January 23, 1988, the couple got married. They have a daughter Manukriti and a son Mayank, both of their children are actors. There were rumors in 2017 that his son was engaged to Shahid Kapoor’s sister Sana Kapoor.

Manoj Pahwa started his career as a theater actor. He played the role of ‘Lakshman’ in a local Ramleela show. He has also worked as a theater artist in many projects at ‘Mandi House’, ‘Sambhav Group’, ‘All India Radio’ and ‘Doordarshan’.
After becoming a father of two, he moved with his family from Delhi to Mumbai to pursue his acting career. In 1984, he made his debut as an actor in the popular Hindi television series “Hum Log” along with his wife Seema Pahwa. Some of his popular Hindi TV series are “Shanti” (1995), “Just Mohabbat” (1996), “Sab Golmaal Hai” (1997), “Gudgudee” (1998), “Office Office” (2001) and “A” Suitable Boy (2020).
His first Hindi film as an actor was Tere Mere Sapne (1996). He has played both comedy and negative roles and some of his popular Hindi films include “Dhamaal” (2007), “Singh is King” (2008), “Ready” (2011), “Mausam” (2011), ” Dabangg 2” (2012), “Jolly LLB” (2013), “Dil Dhadakne Do” (2015), “Mulk” (2018) and “Article 15” (2019).
While he was shooting for the Bollywood film “Mausam” (2011) in Chandigarh, he met Punjabi filmmakers who cast him in the Punjabi film “Heer & Hero” (2013).
