Manpreet Monica Singh is an Indian-American politician, social rights activist and lawyer who became the first Sikh female judge in the United States on January 6, 2023.

In 2002, she was certified by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. That same year, she became a certified litigator. In 2011, she began serving as a certified advocate and board member for the Sikh Alliance of America, a Sikh advocacy organization. In addition to practicing law, she has taken continuing legal education (CLE) courses for the American Board of Trial Advocacy, the University of Texas School of Law, the State Bar of Texas, and the Harris County Judiciary. Manpreet has served as a chapter representative on the American Council of Trial Lawyers and has worked with Texas Grievance Commission, South Asian Chamber of Commerce, South Asian Bar Association, and Houston Chapter representatives of the American Bar Council. Manpreet ran as the Democratic candidate in the general election for Harris County Civil Court Law 4 and won. The election will be held in November 2022. After applying to run, she said in an interview,
I am excited and proud to announce my candidacy for Harris County Civil County Court Law Judge No. 4. As a native Houstonian, I hope to represent my community with respect for diversity and servant leadership. It is an honor to represent our community. I hope I get blessings from all Sikhs around the world. “
