Marcelo Claure was born in Guatemala on December 9, 1970. His father worked as a geologist for the diplomatic service of the United Nations. Due to the nature of his father’s work, his family was forced to move. When he was two years old, his family moved to Morocco. He spent his childhood in La Paz, Bolivia, after his parents moved from Morocco to the Dominican Republic.
Marcelo attended numerous schools. He attended the Instituto Domingo Savio before transferring to the American Cooperative School, where he graduated. He went on to attend Lowell University before transferring to Bentley College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance. He also studied at Bentley University, where he obtained a doctorate in commercial sciences.
