Maria Georgas Responds After Devin Strader and Jenn Tran's Bachelorette Breakup: 'Put It to Rest'

Maria Georgas responds to Bachelor Nation’s recent chatter about Devin Strader’s social media activities.

Tracking Bachelor season 21 finale and during the After the Final Rose special on Tuesday, September 3, Bachelorette Jenn Tran called Devin out for following Georgas on Instagram the day after he broke off their engagement with a phone call. Jenn and Maria competed on Joey Graziadei’s season.

“What I can’t understand is everything you did after we broke off our engagement,” Jenn told Devin, before calling his decision to follow Maria “so disrespectful of everything we shared together, I just don’t get it.”

“Obviously I let you down,” Devin Jenn said. “And I can’t say anything other than that. But everything I felt for you was real.”

On Thursday, September 5, Maria, 30, posted a lengthy response on TikTok, adding: “Leave it alone,” in the caption.

“Last night was hard to watch and my heart goes out to Jenn,” Maria began. “I can’t talk about her relationship. The only two people who can talk about her relationship are her and Devin.”

“I stopped defending my character,” she continued. “I know who I am and my friends and family know who I am. I am speechless at the fact that you were looking at me through a screen and could still see how real I was. I understand that Jenn needs to speak up about it – have your say girl, I respect that. I just think that without the full context it leads people to believe a completely different narrative.”

Maria further confirmed that Devin followed her on Instagram, but she doesn’t “pay attention” to who follows her and who doesn’t.

“I had no idea about it until people brought it to my attention,” she explained. “And by then, when I found out, he stopped following. Let me clarify something: I have never met Devin before.”

However, during After the Final Rose, Jenn stated that Devin went “clubbing” with fellow contestant Jeremy Simon instead of mourning their breakup.

“I never went out to the club with him [Devin]”, explained Marija. “He did his thing. Did I go out with Jeremy – a night out with friends, a bunch of us together? Yes, I did.”

Maria said she intends to meet people in “real life” and wants to continue “meeting people through friends”.

“It’s very normal,” Maria added, stressing that she “will not apologize” for meeting another Bachelor franchise competitors.

“I can’t control who follows who,” she continued. “But what I can control is what I’m going to do about it. And what I do is I don’t follow back. And I never came back,” she said. “Now that I see how things have turned out, I will never follow that man.”

“My character, my innocence, my peace are important to me. And I won’t screw it up to anyone,” she added.

“Just because [Jenn and I] broke up and are no longer friends doesn’t mean we hate each other,” she said. “That does not mean that if someone disrespects her to my face, I will sit here and stand for it. Because I’m not.”

“I’m just an ordinary person who went on a reality TV show. Stop holding me to a standard that doesn’t exist,” she concluded.

Bachelor is now available to stream on Hulu.
