Mariah Carey, Aboard Her Private Jet, Has the Perfect Response to Being 'Rushed' into 'All I Want for Christmas' Season

The Queen of Christmas hasn’t thawed yet.

In a silly video posted on Mariah Carey’s Instagram on Wednesday, October 1, the star let her fans know that it’s too early for Christmas.

In the video, Carey, 55, is comfortably seated in her private jet as the jingle to her hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” begins and the pilot announces: “This is your captain. Welcome to Mariah – we’re headed to the North half.”

Then the “Fantasy” singer shot back, “Not yet, sorry.”

“They always rush me,” she added.

The star usually heralds the start of the holiday season on November 1 by sharing a clever video on social media.

In last year’s video, the date and time changed from October 31 at 11:59 a.m. to November 1 at 12:00 a.m. when the vault door burst open to reveal Carey frozen in a block of ice in a Mrs. Claus-style onesie.

Then, four people in Halloween costumes, including a pumpkin head and a mask from the movie Screamshe started melting the ice with the hair dryer before Carey said “It’s time!” in a high voice.

Carey was then joined by her 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe as they played in the snow while the song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” played in the background.

Although she’s not quite ready for the start of the season yet, she jumped into action in August when she announced she was returning for the Christmas Time tour.

This year will mark the 30th anniversary of her album Merry Christmas and his record-breaking single “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

The holiday tour follows her Merry Christmas One and All! tour last year. She opened up about the preparation behind it in a digital cover story with PEOPLE.

“I worked day and night on this,” she said at the time. “I worked with some amazing people on this, like Miss Debbie Allen. I’ll be doing songs I’ve never done before, some duets. I have to keep some surprises in store.”
