Mighty ducks star Shaun Weiss is back on the ice!
More than 30 years after he starred in Disney’s beloved 1992 sports comedy, the actor and comedian recently shared photos of himself in hockey gear — and a Ducks jersey — while shooting promos for FunkAway deodorant.
“The last time I skated was the last day of filming D3,” Weiss captioned a Sept. 29 Instagram post. “It’s like riding a bike. With 30-year-old bones.”

The attached photos show the 45-year-old Weiss, who played Ducks goaltender Greg Goldberg in the Mighty ducksin a goalie helmet, pads and skates as he took to the ice.
As Weiss noted in his post, he also reprized his role in both Mighty ducks sequels, 1994 D2: Mighty Ducks and in 1996 D3: Mighty Ducks. But after appearing in the franchise and other movies and TV shows like Sabrina, the teenage witch, A boy meets the world and Freaks and nerds in the late 90s and early 2000s, the former child star hit a rough patch, eventually experiencing homelessness and an addiction to methamphetamine.

In 2018, Weiss checked into rehab after a string of arrests, but was arrested again two years later for burglary while allegedly under the influence of methamphetamine.
In 2022, the actor said he had been sober for two years, and a month later announced that he had landed his first role in 14 years, in the 2023 film. The Jesus Revolution.
In January, Weiss celebrated four years of sobriety with friends and fellow child stars Sabrina the teenage witch actor Nate Richert, The Secret World of Alex Mack star Natanya Ross, Say hello to your shorts actor Michael Ray Bower, American Pie actor Thomas Ian Nicholas, Sandlot actor Marty York and others at an event at the Corbin Bowl in Tarzana, California.
