Mariah Carey’s twins are budding actresses.
The music icon, 54, revealed Access that her twins — son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, 12, who she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon — will join her at the Billboard Music Awards, which airs Nov. 19.
“I love it. I love seeing them step into this performance space, this music space, and the fact that they’re eager to do that, that’s on them,” she said.
“I never say ‘you have to do it,’ you know? That’s what they want to do and they practice for it and they go after it and they work really hard, so that’s impressive to me.”

Mariah Carey Stars With Twins Monroe And Moroccan In New Holiday Campaign (Exclusive)
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE last month about her new holiday campaign for The Children’s Place, the singer opened up about her two children growing up.
– Don’t rush our whole life – the proud mom said with a laugh. “They still have 12 years left.”
According to Carey, watching Moroccan and Monroe grow into young people is “actually really nice.”
“They are good, nice children,” she continued. “They are good-hearted people and I really enjoy being with them and watching them grow into the people they will eventually become.”
And while the “Always Be My Baby” singer admitted she doesn’t “want to be that overbearing person talking about all the things they do,” Carey said she likes each of her kids to have activities they enjoy participating in.
“They’re doing activities like physical sports and things like that, which I was hoping for because when they were little, I made them do it,” she explained. “Then when there was COVID, they really couldn’t go anywhere and do anything. So now they both really enjoy activities and sports and all that.”
