Mark Hamill had his family supporting him on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.
At Roy Thomson Hall on Sunday, September 8, Hamill, 72, posed with wife Marilou York and their daughter Chelsea at the world premiere of his animated film Wild robot.
The couple, who married in 1978, have three grown children: Chelsea, Nathan and Griffin.
Wild robot is an “epic adventure” from director Chris Sanders that “follows the journey of a robot — unit ROZZUM 7134, abbreviated ‘Roz’ — who is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh environment, gradually building relationships with the island’s animals and becoming the adopter of an orphaned goose. ”

In addition to Hamill, the voice cast includes Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Matt Berry and Ving Rhames.
Hamill is also at TIFF to support his film Chuck’s lifeadaptation of Stephen King. He shared a photo of himself from the September 6 world premiere on Instagram, looking excited as he sat next to King, 76.

“It’s not often I sit next to a literary genius and one of my all-time favorite authors: Stephen King,” Hamill wrote. “It took every ounce of discipline I possess to avoid going crazy and exposing myself as the weak, slavish fanboy that I truly am.”
It’s in February Star Wars the actor celebrated his wife on her birthday, writing on Instagram: “Marilou, you are my eternal dream and today you are younger in spirit than when I first met you. May you have the happiest birthday.”
On their 45th wedding anniversary in December 2023, Hamill wrote that he was “eternally grateful” that Marilou said “I do,” and the actor called her “the love of my life.”
Wild robot it’s in theaters on September 27.
