Mark Sheppard says he recently survived six heart attacks.
The 59-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Crowley on Supernaturalspoke about his health in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday.
“You won’t believe it! I was going to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in the kitchen,” Sheppard began the caption of his post alongside a selfie he took in his hospital bed.
The English actor noted at the time that he had “six massive heart attacks” and was “returned from [the] dead 4 times,” before learning he “had a 100% blockage in my LAD”
The LAD, or left anterior descending artery, is the largest coronary artery, carrying nearly 50% of all blood carried by the coronary circulation, according to the National Library of Medicine.

Sheppard then referred to the heart attack by its colloquial name – “The Widowmaker” – before expressing his gratitude to everyone who helped him through the experience.
“If it wasn’t for my wife, the @losangelesfiredepartment in Mullholland and the amazing staff at @providencecalifornia St Joseph’s – I wouldn’t be writing this,” he said. “My chances of survival were almost zero.”
“Feeling great. Humbled once again,” Sheppard added. “Home tomorrow! #spnofamily.”

Sheppard’s co-star Misha Collins — who played Castiel on the CW series — shared a message of support for the actor in the comments section of his post.
“Grade! You don’t have to do the biggest and the biggest every time! 6 heart attacks? 2 or 3 would be impressive enough,” Collins, 49, wrote.
“You’ve impressed us, all right. Now stop this treatment and get back on the road with us,” he continued. “I love you my friend.”

Several other actors also wished Sheppard a speedy recovery, including Matt Bomer and Supernatural star Felicia Day.
“I’m glad you’re okay Mark. Sending ❤️,” wrote Bomer, 46, while Day, 44, said: “Oh my God I’m so glad you’re on the mend, this is horrible! Sending all my love to you and your family ❤️.”
A doctor who is and Torchwood actor John Barrowman also texted Sheppard, “Mark, WTF…if there’s anything you need or I can do, just let me know. I’m only a short way away.”
“Please do whatever they tell you to heal and get better,” added Barrowman, 56. “You are a wonderful soul and a wonderful man. Sending you lots of love…Jb ❤️❤️❤️.”
