In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the season 17 premiere, the 31-year-old Denver native opens up about her fluid sexual identity and the type of person she finally wants to settle down with.

“Yes, I’m young, I’m wild, I’m free. But I’m also a certified lover,” Lauren says in the clip during the confessional interview.

“I’m not really big on labels, but I would say if I had to identify as anything, it would be queer or maybe even just floating,” she tells the cameras.

Continuing, Lauren explains, “I’m a little bit more attracted, in theory, to the security that a man provides, the strength that a man provides, the swagger.”

Lauren reiterated her stance in another premiere teaser clip he received Party tonight last week, in which he says, “I love men. I enjoy women, but really I just want to be married to a man.”

Elsewhere in the video, her new partner Orion talks about how he would feel if his partner was attracted to more than one gender.

“If my potential husband identified as queer, it wouldn’t bother me,” he says. “In the Navajo tribes, we have the arrival of two souls, male and female. I explored that feminine side when it came to dating a man, but it was also like a gateway where it was like, ‘I’m not gay.’ You know, things like that.”

Orion adds, “I feel like if you don’t explore that, or if you don’t explore your own curiosity, it’s too binding.”

Late last month, PEOPLE exclusively unveiled the cast and trailer for season 17. In addition to Lauren and Orion, the other couples are Emily and Brennan, Clare and Cameron, Becca and Austin, and Michael, whose mystery bride has not been named.

While the upcoming installment will follow the couple in Denver, Colorado as they get married, honeymoon and move in together, it will show them trying different activities together to bond, like rock climbing, NSFW planetarium classes, mezcal tasting and reading aura.

But as always, couples will have to decide whether they want to stay together or divorce at the end of the eight-week social experiment.

The newlyweds will also get expert advice from Pastor Cal and Dr. Pepper, along with Dr. Pia, who joins the show as a resident expert, as they support couples in what comes after they say “I do.”
