Lauren Dunn, 32, had to be separated from her husband Jono for a while after developing a blood clot in her shoulder.

The Australian Married At First Sight star became a huge hit with fans as she starred in the eleventh installment of the hit social experiment.

But she had to leave the Sky Suites and pack her bags after doctors discovered a clot in her shoulder.

The PR and marketing consultant then had to fly back to Perth for emergency surgery.

She finally got to a good place with her husband, Jonathan McCullough, who admitted he will “miss her and her energy” while she recovers.

Lauren, meanwhile, spoke out after the incident, as she revealed the condition “wasn’t caused by anything”.

She told 9Entertainment that the blood clots “could have been there for 20 years.”

Lauren explained: “I woke up and the whole side of my body was numb and really purple. I said, ‘Something’s wrong’. I called Jon – who was at the gym – and he told me to go to the doctor.”

The doctor then sent her straight to the hospital, who confirmed that she needed emergency surgery to remove the clots.

She admitted: “Jono was so good. He packed me an overnight bag with all my stuff, headphones, all my skin care products – he was so good.”

Although he wanted to be there for her at appointments, she told him: “Look, I’m still waiting in the emergency bed and there’s not even a chair for you to sit on – I’d feel guilty if you sat there for hours”.

Although the star is not completely retiring from the experiment, she revealed that she wants to recover from the operation surrounded by the comforts of her home

She explained: “The thought of recovering at Skye Suites when I was in so much pain, it was definitely nice to have the comforts of home.”
