Welcome to The Blueprint, where we take apart the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and recreate them, piece by piece.
Martha Stewart wore one color and one color only. Is it that sweet? We think so. (Yes, that’s espresso.)
The media mogul just shared photos from the promotion of his book on Instagram Marta: Cookand we couldn’t help but notice the detail that connects all her outfits: the dark brown palette.
A friend who peeked into my Béis carry-on (which is also brown) on a recent trip to Mexico I noticed that I only packed espresso colored clothes. Stewart is on the trail of earth tone being the “color” of fall. And combine it with other seasonal items like oversized sweaters and pants? Ingenious.
If you’re looking to spice up your fall wardrobe, keep scrolling to find espresso cardigans, pants, and boots inspired by the star’s recent looks.

Stewart isn’t the only famous fan of brown cardigans – in September, Reese Witherspoon was also seen in the fall style. This sweater looks so similar to Stewart’s, and it’s on sale for just $35. The oversized silhouette and open design make it easy to layer over short-sleeved and long-sleeved shirts.
One customer wrote that he was “impressed” with the quality and called the knit fabric “soft to the touch.”

We love a good pair of fall jeans, but if you want something different (and still comfortable), try pants like this pair from Abercrombie & Fitch. I love how the pleated front dresses them up and they have functional side pockets. The straight leg cut is timeless and easy to combine with blouses, sweaters and blazers. In addition to espresso, you can find them in four other shades including oat, indigo, black and gray.

I don’t know about you, but I live in boots during the fall and winter. They’re practical and still look good – and, on that note, I think I’ll have to ditch my basic black pair for this dark brown option on Amazon. They have side zippers to make getting ready a breeze, memory foam insoles to soften your feet, and even a little heel to give you a little lift.
It’s official — espresso is the only color I’ll be wearing from now on. Get in on the trend with more Martha Stewart-inspired cardigans, pants, and boots below.
