Martin Scorsese Hilariously Narrates Daughter Francesca's Makeup Routine: 'It Looks Like Clown Face'

Martin Scorsese’s next wave of filmmaking could be on TikTok.

The Oscar-winning director, 81, narrated his daughter Francesca’s latest TikTok, in which she is applying make-up in rapid succession. Martin had a lot to say about his daughter’s GRWM (get ready with me) process — and a few jokes along the way.

At the beginning of TikTok, Francesca, 24, prepares her face and starts with foundation. “It looks like a clown’s face,” her dad says before she moves on to blending. “Clap, there’s a lot of clapping going on,” the Good guys the director continues as she begins using a makeup sponge.

When he starts shaping and filling in his brows, Martin seems skeptical. “Oh, look, it darkens them. I don’t know if I should do that,” he says of her brows. “I shouldn’t do that.”

When she grabs the eyelash curler, he jokingly exclaims, “My God! She’s taking out her eye! My God! Stop it!” and calls the mascara “terrifying.”

At one point, Martin wonders aloud what the makeup is for, looking frustrated. “This is what I do every day,” Francesca is heard saying.

She tells her daughter that her “outline is too big” when it comes to her lip liner. As she switches to her lip gloss, Martin chides, “You can’t fool me, it’s nail polish.”

“You kids are crazy, I swear,” she concludes after Francesca finishes her routine.

Fans were obsessed with Martin’s storytelling on TikTok. “Seeing Martin Scorsese on Tiktok will literally never get old,” someone wrote. “This is the craziest timeline there is of Martin Scorsese doing VO for GRWM,” commented another.

“He’s worried about the direction of this [TikTok] 😭,” said a third person, noting that Martin said the clip started too fast.

“Your dad is funny, he should be making movies,” another person joked about Martin’s reputation as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.

This isn’t the first time Martin has been a part of Francesca’s makeup-related TikToks. In October, she posted on TikTok herself using a brush to touch up her father’s makeup while on set. “POV: you don’t have an MUA, but you have a daughter,” she wrote, adding “Daughter duties.” After Francesca finished the repairs, Martin said, “Okay, my dear,” before going back to work.

Francesca questioned beforehand Killers of the Flower Moon director about modern slang in TikTok from October 2023. “He killed quietly,” she said at the time.
