Masum has loved singing since he was a child. He has performed Haryanvi Ragnis in cultural shows in his hometown. In 2009, he released his debut music album “Jalwa Haryana”, which consisted of eight audio songs, but the album failed to impress the audience. After his debut album Masoom received an average response from the audience, Mukesh Grover and his friends started a company, GV Videos, to release cassettes and DVDs of Haryanvi songs from Masoom. On March 16, 2021, Masoom Sharma received death threats through WhatsApp calls and text messages. Initially, the caller threatened and abused Masum through WhatsApp calls, and later he dropped a WhatsApp text message threatening him to kill his family. He said,

A case has been registered for allegedly blackmailing a woman
In December 2021, a woman lodged a complaint against Masoom Sharma and three others Gaurav, Vikas and Deepak at the Julana police station, accusing them of sexually abusing her and threatening her with death threats. The woman alleged in her complaint that she was raped by Masoom’s brothers Vikas and Deepak and one of their common friends Gaurav. The woman alleged that Gaurav demanded Rs. He asked for 48,000 on the pretext of treating his sick mother. When she asked for money a few days later, Gaurav refused to repay the borrowed money. However, he called the victim to a recording studio in Masum on the pretext of repaying the money, but instead, he raped her. He recorded the incident and blackmailed her into spreading the word if she reported the incident to the police. Later, she was raped by Masoom’s brothers Vikas and Deepak. When the victim reported the incident to Masum, he threatened to kill her despite helping her. Based on the woman’s complaint, a case was registered against Masoom, Deepak, Vikas and Gaurav.

- In 2021, Manish Sharma, a resident of Nangal village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, created a fake account on Facebook in the name of Masoom Sharma and texted random girls on the pretext of providing them with modeling opportunities in music videos. Manish allegedly impersonated himself as Masoom Sharma and often had inappropriate conversations with several girls, which ultimately lowered Masoom’s image among girls. When Masoom noticed the fake Facebook account, he immediately reported the matter to Julana police station, after which Manish was arrested by the police.
- In January 2021, against the backdrop of farmers’ protests against farm practices in India, Masoom Sharma was invited to meet Manohar Lal, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the tenth chief minister of Haryana, in Chandigarh.
