Actor Matt Gogin died on December 13, 2022, at the age of 40, from COVID-19 and pneumonia complications. He died at the Providence St. Jude’s Medical Center in Fullerton, California. His father, actor Michael Lee Gogin, paid homage to him on Facebook, uploading a photo and stating that his family had suffered much since his son’s diagnosis. He went on:
“I would appreciate it if you could kindly forward this letter to everyone who knows Matt… On a more personal note, I’d like to thank Karen Kramer, Katharine Kramer, and Jennifer Kramer for their assistance in getting the news out to the Variety and Hollywood Reporter.”
Michael indicated that the family has planned a memorial service for Matt on May 28, 2023, in Southern California, and that the time and location would be announced shortly. He ended the message by asking everyone to contact anybody who is still uninformed of the actor’s death.
Matt Gogin was well-known for his roles in various films, notably Tiptoes.
Matt Gogin, who was born on May 28, 1982, began his career in the entertainment business with the 2002 adolescent comedy film The New Guy, in which he played Ed Ligget. The picture, directed by Ed Decter, was a box office triumph, although it received mixed reviews from reviewers. He was then cast in Tiptoes, a 2003 comedy-drama film. Gary Oldman, Kate Beckinsale, Patricia Arquette, Matthew McConaughey, and Peter Dinklage played key parts in the film.
When director Matthew Bright was fired during post-production, Tiptoes had to be trimmed, lowering the running duration from 150 minutes to 90 minutes. Apart from earning terrible reviews, it was regarded as one of the worst films ever made. He then appeared in the 2009 romantic comedy film Made for Each Other, which was only shown in a few cinemas. He was next seen in the 2019 short film Stalls, which was about a cruise trip that culminated in an opera theatre lavatory. The main characters were played by Andrew Ableson, Matthew Jain, and Timothy Scott.
Matt Gogin came from a family with links to the entertainment world. His father, Michael Lee Gogin, has also worked in the entertainment sector for a long time as a screenwriter and entrepreneur. He is also a member of SAG-AFTRA, AGVA, and AGMA.
The late actor was reported to have a net worth of roughly $16 million. He was also noted for his involvement with groups that tried to improve the lives of those born with disabilities. He was married to Tanya Marie Richards, who died in 2016 and was 32 years old at the time. Matt Gogin is also survived by his son Steven, as well as his brothers Charles and Andrew.
