Matt James Shares Sweet Tribute for Girlfriend Rachael's Birthday After Falling in Love 'Against All Odds'

‘The Bachelor’ star called Rachael Kirkconnell “the best part of everyday” and said they were “meant for each other” in his adorable 27th birthday tribute

Matt James showers his girlfriend Rachael Kirkconnell with all his love on her 27th birthday.

The reality star, 31, posted a sweet tribute to Kirkconnell on Instagram on Tuesday to mark the special occasion. The couple first met in season 25 Bachelor 2020 and, apart from a brief breakup, they have been in a relationship ever since.

James shared a video showing a selection of his girlfriend’s candid moments, such as enjoying ice cream, playing a dance game in the arcade, kissing him while on a boat and the two sharing s’mores.

“Happy birthday Gamora 💚🎂,” he wrote in the caption. “people always ask why I have your number saved as ‘Gamora’ and it’s a simple answer 👽❤️🙆🏾‍♂️. because in the most unlikely of circumstances, against all odds.. Star-Lord (me obviously) and Gamora (YOU ) found each other and fell in love 🙂.”

“you are the best part of everyday,” he continued. “I love you and I can’t wait to make more memories with you 🐥.”

Bachelor alum didn’t stop there. He also published a series of Instagram Stories in which he shows his love and reveals how they celebrated.

The first photo was a shot of Kirkconnell smiling while holding a fluffy white cat. “Happy birthday my love 🐥❤️,” he wrote.

He then followed it up with a picture of the two of them standing next to each other at the Culture Espresso cafe in New York, both holding iced drinks and her face messy – probably from the delicious dessert.

“we are meant for each other ❤️🍪”, he wrote.

The reality star also posted a photo of herself enjoying a “birthday lunch” outdoors with delicious fries and salad.b

Finally, as a cherry on top, James revealed a “special birthday episode” from comedian and actor Beetlejuice. “thank you bug,” he wrote next to a screenshot of their FaceTime call.

In July, Kirkconnell and James opened up to PEOPLE about trying to “brush off” any negative comments or rumors about their relationship and instead choose to focus on the love they have for each other.

“I think we try to focus more on the positive than anything,” Kirkconnell told PEOPLE at the time. “I think we’re really used to the noise, and we’re really used to being able to turn it down after our relationship started.”

“I think at the end of the day, we just love and appreciate everyone who loves us and supports us. And for anyone who doesn’t, that’s fine too,” she continued. “We know it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is each other.”

James wholeheartedly agreed, noting that “everything is love” between them.

“In our relationship, we do things for each other. We like to share that with people because they’ve been through our long journey together,” he chimed in. “There’s no pressure. Everything we do is for each other, and I think that’s what makes our relationship so good.”
