Matt Roloff and Fiancee Caryn Chandler Clash Over Design of New Home: ‘We Got Problems’

Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler don’t get along in their new home.

On Tuesday night’s episode Little people, big worldRoloff, 62, and his fiancee clashed several times while trying to make some big interior design decisions.

After revealing in last week’s Season 25 premiere that he’s decided to leave the family’s beloved Oregon farm to his ex-wife Amy, Matt and Chandler first turned to decorating their new home, working with an interior designer to help bridge the gap in their tastes.

But the couple – who have been dating since 2017 – have continued to clash, after Chandler claimed their new home was still her fiance’s house which they were simply sharing, as they were not yet married.

“I want this to be our house,” Matt said in an on-camera interview, before Chandler jumped in, saying, “Well, I appreciate that, but it’s always going to be your house that we’re going to share.”

Despite her fiance’s intrusions, Chandler continued, “That’s how I look at it. We are not married. This is Matt’s house where I live together.”

“We’ve heard that building homes — building, remodeling — can cause divorces,” Matt admitted, before adding, “We don’t have to worry about that.”

After joking about who wanted (and who didn’t) a “barn wood” look for their new home, the couple also discussed how different their new home should be compared to the Roloff family’s farmhouse.

“So it’s not a barn. You don’t want to try to make it look like a barn,” Chandler said, before Matt chimed in, “Why not?”

Trying to find a compromise, Roloff proposed a solution to combat their differing design tastes.

“This is how we’re going to do it from now on,” he said. “Find a product that [I] like, tell me where you don’t want it, and I’ll put what’s left there.”

Playfully putting her partner’s idea into action, Chandler asked if he liked a piece of the floor. “You want to know where I want it?” she asked before answering sharply, “Nowhere.”

Matt Roloff turns Roloff Farms ‘big house’ into short-term vacation rental: ‘Think Airbnb’

In last week’s episode, Matt caused controversy in the family when he revealed to Amy, 61, that in the event of his death, he would leave their farm in Oregon to her and not to any of their four children: twins Zach and Jeremy, 33, daughter Molly, 30, and son Jacob, 27.

Appearing shocked, Amy said in an interview that the decision was “crazy”.

“I don’t even know how to comment on that,” she said, shaking her head as her husband, Chris Marek, looked on, silent and looking stunned.

Matt’s decision comes amid growing tension between him and his children. In the trailer for season 25, he admitted that he doesn’t see some of them very often.
