Matt Roloff Is ‘Petrified’ His Relationship with Fiancée Caryn Chandler Could Change When They Get Married

Little people, big world star Matt Roloff is looking forward to spending the rest of his life with fiancée Caryn Chandler, but the couple may be thinking about getting married for real.

In the latest episode of the hit TLC series, Matt, 62, revealed to his friends, including his ex-wife Amy’s husband, Chris Marek, that he feels “petrified” about remarrying. Although he said he’s not seeing “anyone but Caryn,” the reality star explained that he worries their relationship might change after they walk down the aisle.

While spending the night in his log cabin, Matt admitted he was feeling “petrified” about the wedding when his friend Ty remarked that he seemed “scared” about it.

The reality star shared that he and his fiancee (who he proposed to last April) have talked about feeling “scared” that their dynamic might change, especially because “it’s working so well right now.”

Matt said, “We have a whole, ‘Don’t fix what ain’t broke’.” We started that whole thing.”

Amy Roloff doesn’t expect to be ‘best friends’ with ex Matt Roloff’s fiancee Caryn Chandler: ‘We’re cordial’

He continued: “It’s not that we have anything against the institution of marriage – we both like it and have been married – but should we do it?”

The Roloff Farms owner explained that, at this point, he and Caryn, 56, are simply taking their engagement day by day. “We don’t do anything off the table,” the TV personality told her friends. “When we talk about it, we always say, ‘We’ll talk about it again in a few weeks or months or whatever.'”

To reassure his friend, who he has grown close to in recent years, Chris, 61, spoke candidly about how he experienced similar feelings before he and Amy tied the knot in 2021.

“I was worried about that too,” he revealed. “At 59, I didn’t feel I had to get married, but I heard so many stories from other couples who had been together for a long time and, as soon as they got married, the relationship changed.”

“Fortunately, that didn’t happen,” continued the real estate agent. “If anything, it’s gotten easier.”

In the confessional, LPBW star opened up about how he and Caryn saw securing their Arizona property as “testing the waters” in the next phase of their relationship.

“We talked about visiting her again when the house is right [our wedding plans], so we start that process of, ‘Hey, does this change anything?'” he revealed. “We’ll both say, ‘Not necessarily, except you could sell your house and move in.'”

Matt added: “We have a lot of respect and value for the concept of marriage and the principles behind it and are weighing all our options.”

PEOPLE exclusively revealed that Matt and Caryn got engaged after dating for six years last April. “After six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me and she said yes!” the reality TV star said at the time. “Our plan is to enjoy our engagement and look forward to a simple yet elegant wedding in 2024.”

In an additional comment on the post, the entrepreneur told his fans, “You’ve all been telling me to ‘put a ring on her,'” adding, “I did. 💍”

Matt was previously married to Amy, who was his colleague LPBW28 years until the two divorced in 2015.
