MATTHEW Perry’s official cause of death has been revealed, and the results of the actor’s toxicology report have been officially confirmed.
The Friends star tragically passed away in her hot tub in October, to the shock and horror of fans around the world.

Now the official cause of Matthew’s death has been revealed after his toxicology report was completed.
The star’s death was ruled an accident due to the “acute effects of ketamine,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.
The report also said Matthew was found “unresponsive in the pool at his residence.”
Contributing factors included “drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine,” — “an opioid-like drug used to treat opioid addiction, as well as acute and chronic pain.”
Ketamine, on the other hand, is used to treat depression and is also used as a recreational drug.
The report revealed that Matthew had taken ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety a week and a half before his death.
However, the ketamine in his system at the time of his death: “could not have been from that infusion therapy, since the half-life of ketamine is 3 to 4 hours or less,” it said.
There was no evidence of alcohol or other drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, PCP or fentanyl in the actor’s body.
“The manner of death is accidental,” the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed in a report.
‘HIGH LEVEL OF KETAMINE IN HIS SYSTEM’
Senior Deputy Medical Examiner Raffi Djabourian’s summary to The US Sun said “high levels of ketamine were found in his post-mortem blood samples.”
Therefore: “The main lethal effects would be from both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.
“Drowning contributes due to the likelihood of submersion in a pool because of unconsciousness; coronary artery disease contributes due to worsening of ketamine-induced myocardial effects on hearts.”
While the medical examiner concluded that “the ketamine in his system at the time of death could not have been from that infusion therapy,” they were unable to pinpoint the “exact method of administration” in Perry’s case.
The report suggested that Matthew was “reportedly clean for 19 months” from drug use, although other close peers claimed otherwise.
A TRAGIC END
Matthew died on October 28 at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 54.
At the time his body was discovered, there were no signs of foul play.
The comedian’s friends insisted he was clean and sober in his final years and was known to be active at his Palisades home.
The star’s long-time barber, Pierre Johnson Jr, exclusively told The US Sun that Matthew has even tried to cut back on smoking, which was his “last bad habit”.
“He had a home gym inside his place in Palisades and I knew he had started playing pickleball again,” Pierre said.
“That was his last bad habit, he wanted to stop so much, that’s why he started playing pileball.
“It was enjoyable, you didn’t have to be crazy about the gym to have fun doing it. And that’s cardio.”
He continued: “His fingers were brown from smoking. He even went to a hypnotist to try to quit. We often smoke because we are stressed.
“The last day he was playing cucumbers, it’s the lungs. I wonder if it has anything to do with [his death].”
Pierre said he never saw Matthew drink alcohol and believed he was clean and sober in his final years after he fully recounted his problems in his memoirs.
“His story changed lives and I was glad to see that he was on the other side [his addiction],” He said.
EX SAW ‘RED FLAGS’ BEFORE DEATH
Ex-girlfriend and ex-assistant Kayti Edwards told the US Sun she feared he had relapsed into drug addiction before he died.
She said: “There are a lot of things that don’t sit well with me.
“I can’t believe he just drowned in his jacuzzi, that doesn’t sound right.
“I know Matthew and I know he wouldn’t just drown.
“I think he may have been taking pills in the week leading up to this.
“They said there were no prescription painkillers at the scene, which doesn’t surprise me, because he didn’t leave any drugs lying around.
“He was paranoid and would take them all so there was no evidence and then go get more when he was ready.”
A friend who met Matthew the day before his death said he seemed “100 per cent sober” and “extremely positive”.
But mum-of-four Kayti said she noticed signs that Matthew was not well in the days before his death.
The actor, who rose to fame playing Chandler Bing, posted much more than usual on social media, which he says was out of character.
His last post, five days before his death, shows him in a jacuzzi and is signed “Mattman,” his alter ego based on his obsession with the comic book character Batman.
Kayti said, “That Mattman thing wasn’t something he did when he was sober.
“Mattman would come out when he wasn’t sober and he felt kind of invincible.
“I was around when he was doing drugs, even though I didn’t do drugs with him, and if I said maybe he should take it easy, he’d say, ‘No, I’m Mattman.’
FRIENDS FOR LIFE
After a period of silence following his heartbreaking death, Matthew’s fellow friends finally released statements on their social media profiles in November.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer each spoke from the heart.
Lisa was the latest star to share a post for her lost friend, writing next to a throwback photo of the two co-stars: “I shot the pilot, Friends Like Us, it was immediately picked up, we were on NBC beforehand.
“So… You suggested we play poker AND you made it so much fun when we were getting close in the beginning. Thank you for that.
“Thank you for making me laugh so much with something you said, that my muscles hurt and tears streamed down my face EVERY DAY.
“Thank you for your open heart in a six-way relationship that required compromise. And lots of ‘talking.’
“Thank you for turning up to work when you weren’t feeling well and being absolutely brilliant.
“Thank you for the best 10 years a person can have.
“Thank you for trusting me.
“Thank you for everything I have learned about GRACE and LOVE by knowing you.
“Thank you for the time I had with you, Matthew.”
Jennifer, 54, shared a screenshot of the text messages between the two and wrote in the caption: “Matty I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and in no pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you you say ‘can you BE any crazier?'”
Courtney, 59, shared a clip of the glitch from the show and captioned the video: “In this scene, before we left, he whispered a funny line to me. He used to do things like that a lot. He was funny and kind.”
Matt, 56, posted a series of photos of them together on set and wrote: “It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly bro you’re free at last. Lots of love. And I guess you’re keeping the $20 you owe me.”
David, 57, posted a throwback photo of him and Matthew on the set of Friends and wrote: “I’m picturing you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, with your hands in your pockets, looking around — ‘Can there be any more clouds?'”
