CHELSEA coach Mauricio Pochettino has left the club after 11 months in charge.
The Argentine left Stamford Bridge by mutual consent after leading the Blues to sixth place in the Premier League this season.

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has just started to turn Chelsea around.
An impressive run of form at the end of the season saw the Blues leapfrog Manchester United and Newcastle to finish sixth in the Premier League – and earn a place in the Europa League.
But that wasn’t enough to keep him in the job as it was announced on Tuesday night that the Argentine had left.

It was announced that Pochettino was sacked following an internal review carried out by fellow sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.
The two were reportedly reviewing the performance of the 2023/24 season. and came to the conclusion that Pochettino’s time in West London must end.
The two sports directors thanked Pochettino for the time he dedicated to him in a short and unceremonious club statement.
It read: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season.
“He will be welcome back at Stamford Bridge anytime and we wish him all the best in his future coaching career.”
While Pochettino himself also commented on his time at the club, adding: “Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and sporting directors for the opportunity to be part of the history of this football club.
“The club is now well placed to continue to progress in the Premier League and Europe for years to come.”
Chelsea reached the Carabao Cup final and the FA Cup semi-final this season, but ended up winning neither.

During Pochettino’s short stay at the club, he was supported to the tune of around £400m in transfers.
And despite a turbulent start to the season, he leaves the club having lost just one of their last 15 Premier League games.

But while the oligarch kept Chelsea’s HR department busy by regularly handing out P45s, he also regularly shipped in world-class players in the hope of delivering instant silverware.
There was no ‘Vision 2030’, talk of players as financial assets or ridiculous eight-year contracts that would potentially harm the club.
Hiring and firing worked under the previous regime because Chelsea had a stack of world-class talent they were always looking to improve – rather than a group of players who look light years away from the best teams in the country.
One thing is certain though. If Clearlake continues down this path, it will need a rebrand to Vision 2060.

Pochettino becomes the third permanent manager to lose his job as Chelsea boss since the Blues began their new ownership era under the control of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
More than £1 BILLION has been spent on new signings alone during Boehly’s reign – he takes office in May 2022.
Chelsea also announced that Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino – Poch’s coaching staff – have also left the club.
The club has confirmed that it will not make further comments until a new manager is appointed.
Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness, Girona’s Michel, Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna and Leicester’s Enzo Maresca are believed to be among the potential candidates for consideration.

Roberto De Zerbi
The Italian left Brighton at the end of the season after a year and a half in charge. He was linked with a number of top jobs earlier in the campaign, but a difficult run of results saw him fall out of contention for Liverpool. De Zerbi’s forward-footed attacking style would be popular at Stamford Bridge.
Kieran McKenna
The former Manchester United assistant led Ipswich to back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League. That sent his stock soaring and he could be tempted to pounce for a big deal.
Enzo Maresca
Maresca was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City and worked wonders at Leicester, righting the ship to send the Foxes back to the Premier League at the first attempt. The appointment of Pep’s apprentice has turned Arsenal into title contenders, so it could work for Chelsea too.
Hansi Flick
Flick was one of the most sought-after coaches in football after winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich. But it all went wrong in his next role when he became the first coach to be sacked by Germany. He is now ready to return and could be a smart move for the Blues
Sebastian Hoeness
Chelsea fans may not have heard of him, but Hoeness is Germany’s next big thing. Hoeness transformed Stuttgart from relegation contenders to the Bundesliga’s second-best team, finishing above Bayern Munich. Only the invincible Bayer Leverkusen stood in the way of the miracle.
Michel
Michel Sanchez worked wonders with little Girona in Spain. The minnows were right in the running for the LaLiga title on Christmas Day before watching Real Madrid shoot away. But they guided famous Catalan neighbors Barcelona all the way to second place and are guaranteed a place in the Champions League. Reports in Spain say that has attracted the attention of Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho
Still adored by the fans at Stamford Bridge, who have never warmed to former Spurs boss Pochettino, Mourinho would be a popular choice. Winner of three Premier Leagues with the Blues in two lopsided spells, can he be the man to put Chelsea back on top?
