- She was born into a very orthodox Hindu Brahmin family. She said in an interview,
My parents never thought about my future or career, except the traditional Indian rule that “marriage is a must”, no matter what qualities the girl possesses. They never think of anything out of the ordinary”. My wishes and dreams were always behind my closed eyes. After getting married, I met the typical strong and vicious parents-in-law who never supported me in advancing my career , but they brought me humiliation and unfair judgment. In fact, they were against female education. The mental torture from my parents-in-law drove me crazy, but my husband was very supportive, so I was able to improve myself and reach this level.”
- After her marriage, she suffered from difficulties and harassment from her parents-in-law. The couple moved to Ahmedabad to escape trouble and avoid any misfortune.
- After becoming pregnant, she weighed almost 90 pounds, and she thought about committing suicide. She was unable to attend any events or parties and was shamed for her weight, but her determination and strong desire helped her become a model.
