McDonald’s Boo Buckets are back!
To kick off October, the fast food chain announced that the Halloween buckets are returning on October 15th. Participating venues will stock the fan-favorite Boo Buckets, which come as a Happy Meal but also as a trick-or-treat bag.
The not-so-spooky bins feature four new designs this year: monster faces in white, orange and green, plus a new blue color. According to the press release, fans can also personalize their buckets with Halloween stickers.

This year, fans flooded McDonald’s post on Xu with messages of excitement.
“It’s officially spooky season 👻,” one user commented. Another said: “I love Boo Buckets!! I literally use them trick or treat!”

McDonald’s is known for some beloved characters — such as Grimace and Ronald McDonald — and collectible toys and items. In August, the company launched the “Collector’s Meal” on August 13. The limited-time meal combined classic McDonald’s staples with one of six collectible mugs, each decorated with nostalgic references.

McDonald’s also taps into nostalgia with its Happy Meal toys. In December, after 25 years off the market, the restaurant chain brought back McNugget Buddies.
The chicken nugget toys were first introduced back in 1988, and have returned in six different outfits and backstories. New York-based artist Kerwin Frost helped design the mascots and come up with the meal paired with the animated toys.
