Deputy McKinsey Fuson, a valued member of the team, sadly passed away last Sunday. She suffered severe injuries in an off-duty horse riding accident that ended her life. Her sudden death left the community in mourning, and she will be remembered for her dedication to serving and defending the people of Cherokee County. It is with great sadness that the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office announces the death of one of its own, Deputy McKinsey Fuson, who passed away on Sunday, October 29th.
Sheriff Jason Chennault revealed the heartbreaking news Monday morning on the CCSO Facebook page. After a tragic off-duty horseback riding accident near her Adair County home the previous weekend, Deputy Fuson’s life was cut short. She suffered serious injuries in the accident, and despite all efforts, she died. Following this tragic loss, McKinsey’s brother, Jay Fuson, expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of love and condolences from all who reached out to honor the life and service of Deputy McKinsey Fuson.
