Meagan Good Says She’s the ‘Happiest I’ve Been in a Long Time’ in Her Relationship with Jonathan Majors (Exclusive)

Meagan Good and her boyfriend Jonathan Majors had a glam outing at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The outing marks their first appearance at a major awards show as a couple since the former Marvel star’s sentencing in December 2023 for assault in a domestic violence case unrelated to Good.

Good, 42, exclusively revealed to PEOPLE on the red carpet of the event where she’s at during this “crazy time” in her acting career and personal life.

“I’m in love, I’m changing, I’m healing, I’m growing [and] I’m getting excited about what’s next,” says Good, nodding to her relationship with Majors, 34. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is that I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”

Why Jonathan Majors’ sentencing has been delayed until April and what could happen next: Experts explain

“There are some things you just have to be, ‘I don’t have time for that. Let me see what my nephew is doing. Let me see what my mom is doing. Let me see what my man is doing. Let me get this job,’” adds Good.

Majors was found guilty in December of third-degree misdemeanor recklessly causing bodily harm as well as second-degree harassment in a domestic violence case related to an alleged fight between him and ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in New York City in March 2023.

Saturday’s awards ceremony marked Good and Majors’ second public appearance as a couple at the event this month. The couple previously stepped out together at the 7th Annual African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Awards in Los Angeles on March 3.

Majors and Good recently moved into New York’s Greenwich Village neighborhood together and visited Majors’ mom in Texas during a trip from Los Angeles to NYC, a source told PEOPLE in February.

Their relationship comes after Good split from husband DeVon Franklin, 45, in December 2021 after nine years of marriage.

Dobra, a self-described “cat person,” tells PEOPLE that her relationship comes with another bonus: Majors’ dogs.

“They love me,” she tells PEOPLE of the pups, named Hero, Captain and Bishop. “They protect me. They are so gentle, wonderful and emotional and it delights me because I was not a dog. I love dogs, but I didn’t want one. Now I have three.”

“We got the bishop because we watched Juice,” Good explains, referring to the 1992 thriller featuring a character named Roland Bishop, played by Tupac Shukar.
