Isabella Lynagh, wife of former rugby player Michael Lynagh, is a role model in the health and wellness community. Michael dominates in rugby and his wife has an equally excellent reputation in health coaching. Michael Patrick Thomas Lynagh, AM, is a former Australian rugby union player best known for his position as fly-half.
From 1984 to 1995, Lynagh represented Australia in the inside, center and fly half positions, playing 72 games and captaining the team in 1993-1995. Lynagh helped Australia win the Grand Slam in 1984 and was vice-captain during Australia’s World Cup success in 1991. Furthermore, he scored in every Test until Marty Roebuck took over the kicking duties, including a try against Wales in 1984. He retired with the record for most points scored at the international level, 911.

Michael Lynagh married Isabella Lynagh in 1996; they have three children. Isabella, Italian, is a certified health and wellness coach, passionate chef and culinary mentor. Although her actual birthday is unknown, we do know that she was born in Treviso, a small town in northeastern Italy. She was raised in a loving environment and was exposed to sports at an early age due to her parents’ love of tennis. Despite her outward optimism, she had stomach pains as a result of thinking about worst-case scenarios.
She was caught in a loop of self-criticism and internal conflict as she struggled to excel academically and athletically. In high school, she applied to be an exchange student and was accepted to Florida, where she attended Lincoln High School. After returning to Italy, she studied economics at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she graduated in 1996.

At the age of 26, she had to adapt to a new nation, striving to be an ideal wife and performing a difficult profession. However, this condition allowed her to discover the fundamental connection between her mind, body and overall well-being. She also found relief in acupuncture, yoga and other treatments. Isabella’s journey took a turning point in 2016 when she entered the IIN to become a Certified Health Coach. Isabella now leads a growing movement for holistic health and empowerment. She has a website called “isahealthykitchen.com” where she discusses her story and supports others going through similar experiences.
Are Michael Lynagh’s sons rugby players too?
Michael Lynagh, a former rugby player, has two sons: Louis and Tom. Following in his father’s footsteps, he plays wing for Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby League. In October 2020, he made his Premiership debut against Leicester Tigers. He played a key role in Quins’ dramatic comeback win against Bristol Bears in the semi-final of the season.
Lynagh has signed a two-year deal with Italian Rugby League side Benetton, starting in the 2024-25 season. Lynagh represented the England Under-16 team and the England U18 team on their tour of South Africa in 2018. In addition, Tom plays rugby union with the Reds. In November 2020, he signed a contract with Michael’s local club, Queensland, for the years 2021–2023 and re-signed until 2025. He made his Super Rugby debut in 2022, joining the Reds squad for the season.
