Mega Millions Jackpot Winner Finally Claims $1.6 Billion Prize One Month After Drawing

A new billionaire appeared in Florida!

The owner of last month’s winning ticket in the Aug. 8 Mega Millions jackpot drawing has finally come forward to claim the $1.602 billion jackpot, officials said Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. The Florida ticket holder had the winning numbers 13, 19, 20, 32 and 33 plus the golden Mega Ball on 14.

Mega Millions officials explained in a press release in August that “strong sales pushed the final jackpot amount well above the previous record of $1.537 billion, won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018.”
