Megan Fox Says She Once ‘Ran from Fashion’ Because She Was ‘Rejecting’ Fame and Her Hyper-Bombshell Image

Megan Fox is known for experimenting with her personal style now, but exploring her identity through clothing — especially in the public eye — hasn’t always been easy for the star.

In conversation with WWDthe Nice guys are toxic the author, 37, admitted she “had a weird relationship with fashion” because she was attracting more attention with her career.

“For so long I refused to be famous and rejected whatever image was attached to me, the person I was supposed to be,” said Fox, who after transformers (starring Mikaela Banes) was released in 2007.

The actress explained that “for a long time I ran away from fashion and lived only in sweatpants or workout clothes and never wanted to express myself.” She also revealed that she “really struggles with that existential question, ‘so, who am I?’

But recently, she “rediscovered” which aesthetic suits her best and rocks them the way she wants.

“Especially now, I go through all these different phases like, ‘What do I like and what can I wear to express how I feel or what I want or what I want to say at this moment?’ I’m learning to use fashion in a way that reflects who I am now,” she said WWD.

Earlier this month, she decided to ditch her chest-length auburn hair (previously a dark brunette) in favor of a chic fiery red hairdo, just in time for the publication of her debut book of poetry, which has become The New York Times best seller.

During the press tour for her latest project, Fox also rocked a variety of trendy brown outfits — like a mini-short suit she paired with red heels and an olive green balloon while in New York — that oozed bossy energy.

She also wore plenty of sexy outfits for date nights with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly.

on GQ Entertainment Men of the Year on November 16, the two wore monochromatic combinations in contrasting colors, proving that opposites sometimes attract.

Fox appeared elegant in a body-hugging white mini dress by Mugler with an asymmetric hem. She paired the designer number with 2000s style accessories such as a clear mini clutch and her clear acrylic pointy toe pumps with diamond encrusted straps.

MGK (whose real name is Colson Baker) went for the grunge option, wearing an oversized dark leather jacket, wide leg leather pants and matching leather boots. She appeared to be wearing a black mesh T-shirt inside a jacket with several large silver chains and earrings.
