On October 22, 2017, she got engaged to her long-time boyfriend, the late Chiranjeevi Sarja, a popular South Indian actor. She married Chiranjeevi in a Christian ceremony at St. Anthony’s Church, Koramangala, Bengaluru on April 20, 2018. On May 2, 2018, Meghana and Chiranjeevi got married in a Hindu ceremony.
Her husband died of cardiac arrest at Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar, Bengaluru on June 7, 2020. She was pregnant with Chiranjeevi’s child.

She worked as a child actor in the play Jokumaraswamy. In 2009, she made her debut as a female lead in the Telugu film Bendu Apparao RMP, playing the role of Gayatri. In 2010, she made her debut in films in different languages, including Punda (Kannada), Kaadhal Solla Vandhen (Tamil) and Yakshiyum Njanum (Malayalam). Initially, her films did not do well at the box office. In 2011, she acted in the super hit Malayalam film Beauty. She has acted in films such as 100°C (2014), Zebra Varakal (2017), Iruvudellava Bittu (2018) and Onti (2019).

- She was going to make her debut in the Kannada film Krishnaleelai but due to various reasons, the film got shelved.
