Melanie Lynskey ushers in the New Year by sharing a tattoo inspired by her daughter.
The Yellow vests star, 46, posted a side-by-side photo of a drawing of her 5-year-old daughter, who she shares with husband Jason Ritter, and a tattoo of the same artwork by Graeme Allan.
“So happy to be carrying this adorable tattoo with me into 2024,” she captioned the post on Instagram. “Thank you to the incredibly kind and talented @graeme.allan from @sacredtattoonz for doing this for me while I was in Aotearoa.”

“It is a meticulous reconstruction of a drawing by my 5-year-old daughter and reminds me even in the most challenging moments that there is true joy in my life and fills me with deep gratitude,” she continued. “I wish a lot of joy for all of you this year! And my great wish is that the world remembers empathy. ❤️”

The New Zealander opened up to PEOPLE on the red carpet in March yellowjackets season two premiere in Los Angeles about the relationship he shares with his daughter.
“I feel so lucky to have my daughter and I love her. It’s like the joy of my life,” Lynskey said at the time. “Every day I’m like, ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you for this kid.’ I want to spend every minute with her.”

That same month, Ritter, 43, revealed on SiriusXM The Jess Cagle Show can he see the couple’s daughter following in her parents’ footsteps.
“He’s watching his parents and he’s already showing signs,” he said Parenthood the star said of their child, who was born in December 2018.
