Melissa McCarthy Carries Massive Cannoli Clutch for 2024 Oscars Party in the Sweetest Style Move of the Night

Melissa McCarthy had possibly the cutest accessory at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

The actress, who quickly changed her outfit after the 2024 Oscars, walked the red carpet at vanity fairparty in black long sleeve Valdrin Sahiti dress with lion head accent on the door. But the pièce de résistance of her look was her magnificent Kinza Winza bag covered in cannoli crystals. The whole moment was giving the mafia woman a cosplay.

McCarthy, 53, brandished her clutch, which was custom dazzled by Sophie Anzaldo, proudly on the red carpet, showing it off to every photographer who looked her way. The bag was the right shape (though not the right size) with a gold shell-like case and silver crystals that mimicked the cream filling. The darker crystals looked like chocolate chips at the ends.

“We decided to focus on the topic of female mobsters vanity fairand the cannoli felt on brand!” McCarthy’s stylist Katja Cahill tells PEOPLE about the custom design.

Earlier in the night, McCarthy walked the Oscars red carpet in a form-fitting red dress with pink balloon sleeves and dramatic pink pumps. She paired the look with red heels and plenty of jewels, and later took to the stage as host alongside Octavia Spencer.

There were so many amazing (and incredibly unusual) accessories on the Oscars red carpet on Sunday night. American fiction Composer Laura Karpman also carried a display bag to complete her look. Hers was a purple sequined bag with the Cadbury logo on it. She didn’t stop there though. She also filled her bag with chocolates to throw at people on the red carpet, calling her day “the sweetest day”.

The team behind Godzilla minus one they stayed in character as they hit the red carpet on Sunday when they carried figurines of the famous monster and showed off black heeled shoes shaped like the claws of a giant lizard. They also showed their dedication to their craft and their project on stage when they accepted the award for the best visual effects.
