He’s a funny, eccentric, cheeky knight who loves good food and goes to bars. He died after he and Percival searched for Morgana and was tortured for information. Although Percival tried to save him, it was too late. Gwaine’s last words were that he had failed.
Freya

After a while, he found he couldn’t trust anyone but Merlin. His shock and betrayal at learning of Merlin’s magic lasted only a moment, accepting his friend and thanking him for all he had done. Arthur’s death leaves audiences in denial, as the end of the film leads to something Merlin was trying to prevent.
