Michael Bolton Reveals He Was Diagnosed with a Brain Tumor, Underwent ‘Immediate Surgery’ Before Holidays

Michael Bolton is facing a health problem in the new year.

In a heartfelt message to fans on Friday, the beloved singer said he was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and will be taking a break from the stage.

“On the eve of the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery. Thanks to my amazing medical team, the surgery was a success,” the 70-year-old singer wrote on Facebook. “I am now recovering at home and surrounded by the overwhelming love and support of my family.”

The Grammy winner also told fans that he will be “dedicating” the “next few months” to his recovery and taking a “temporary break” from touring.

“It’s always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but there’s no doubt that I’m working hard to speed up my recovery and get back to performing soon,” Bolton wrote, thanking his fans for their “love and support” over the years.

“Know that I keep your positive messages in my heart and will give you more updates as soon as I can,” he concluded, signing off his message, “Love always, MB.”

Admitting he took himself a little “too seriously” in his early days, Bolton said he’s learned to turn to humor and enjoy life more.
