Michael Bublé Wishes ‘Superhero’ Son Elias a Happy 8th Birthday: ‘Watching You Grow Is the Greatest Gift’

Michael Bublé celebrates his “superhero” son!

On Monday, the “Swaya” singer, 48, posted an Instagram tribute to his second-oldest child, Elias, when he turned 8.

“Happy birthday to our superhero Elias!! 8 years full of adventures with you so far! Watching you grow up is the greatest gift. Your mom and I love you more than words!” he wrote, signing the message, “XO Papi.”

Bublé’s post featured a video montage capturing the highlights of the father-son duo’s special relationship, set to the five-time Grammy winner’s own rendition of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” In the video, the couple can be seen fooling around together, playing pickleball and high-fiving each other.

Last month, Bublé opened up about Noah’s 2016 liver cancer diagnosis during an appearance on Director’s diary podcast, telling host Steven Bartlett that the news “rocked my world.”

“She pulled the curtain from my eyes. And it was a sledgehammer to my reality,” he recalled, noting that the experience changed him forever.

I’ll never be carefree and that’s okay, Bublé explained. “For me, it is a privilege to exist and that pain, fear, suffering that comes with such things is, I suppose, part of that beautiful, this life.”

Noah’s illness also prompted him to take a good look at his priorities in life. “I don’t think I’ve got my priorities right,” he admitted. “I mean, my family was always my love, but I don’t think I was a terrible guy, but dude, it was blinding. Career. Ambition. How can I become the worst, the biggest, the best. You know, more ego, more power, more money.”

Bublé told Barlett that it’s like going through life with a “filter” over everything. “And the moment they said this was happening, that reality hit me. The filter was gone,” he explained. “And I mean, in a moment. In a moment. Gone.”

Noah, who was diagnosed at age 3, has been in remission since 2017.

In August, the Bublé family marked another special occasion — Ciel’s first birthday. Paying tribute to her youngest child, the “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer reflected on the joy she brought to their crew.

“It’s amazing how one day someone walks into your life and you can’t imagine how you ever lived without them. Happy 1st Birthday Cielito ❤️,” Bublé captioned the birthday post.

Before Ciel’s arrival, Bublé spoke to Yahoo Life about his and Lopilato’s very different parenting styles.

“I’m so proud to be Canadian, but we’re very conservative and kind and it’s all kind of in line with [an orderly fashion]. Argentinians are far more free and it’s relaxed…and you know what? It created a perfect combination,” he said in an interview in April 2022.

He added: “I think that mix of our cultures has been such a beautiful thing for my children because I think they’ve taken the best of both worlds – and they’re very different worlds.”
