Michael is considered one of the best F1 drivers in history. According to F1, he has 91 wins and seven championships, and is honored with a Netflix documentary, released in 2021, chronicling his life. Michael currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland, with his wife Corinna, whom he married in 1995.
F1 champion Michael Schumacher’s son would ‘give up everything’ to talk racing with ‘hero’ dad
In the documentary, Mick — who chose racing number 47 to mark Michael’s seven championships — opened up about his current relationship with his father. He described him as “my hero” and noted that he had “a lot of respect” for Michael.
“I’ve always had it,” Mick said. “He just has that presence. When he walks into a room, everyone goes quiet. That’s how I remember it.”
“Every time I look at him, I say to myself, ‘Yeah, that’s what I want to be.’ Such strength, such complete peace,” continued Mick, adding: “I think dad and I would understand each other differently now simply because we speak a similar language, the language of motorsport, there would be so much more to talk about.”
