Michigan State fires football coach Mel Tucker
According to our relevant sources, it has been confirmed that American football coach, Mel Tucker who was married to Joe Ellyn Tucker for over 20 years, has now been fired without pay from Michigan State University. Michigan State University plans to fire head football coach Mel Tucker on Monday after the coach was accused of sexual harassment. However, in early September, the University suspended Tucker without pay after it was announced that he was under investigation for alleged sexual harassment. Moreover, Michigan State University’s notice offers the coach seven days to provide reasons why he should not be fired. Previously, the investigation into the coach’s behavior began in December.
What’s more, the university has released a copy of the notice they sent to Tucker along with a copy of his employment contract signed in 2021, which they claim was violated and admitted to violating during the investigation. It is noticeable that a notice was sent about unwanted and inappropriate sexual behavior towards the school’s football team. Allegedly, the notice states that the formal complaint and the described undisputed facts provide multiple grounds for termination under the Early Termination Provision. Additionally, the notice alleges that Tucker admitted to making comments about the body, where flirtatious comments and masturbation were made during a phone conversation with the activist. However, the unprofessional and unethical behavior is particularly pronounced considering that the supplier in question was hired by the University for the education of student-athletes.
In a statement, Tucker reportedly called Tracy’s accusations outright lies and said the investigation into his conduct was unfair. He said it was a completely shared and private event between two adults living on opposite sides of the country.
