Gibson was born in Greater Manchester on 19 June 2004. She attended Blue Coat School in Oldham, which is located in the village of Broadbottom in Tameside.
She took acting classes at Oldham Theater Workshop, where she was first noticed and worked with by Manchester Media City talent company Scream Management.
Her parents are Padmakar Misra and Karuna Misra. She also has siblings, whose names are not known. She is single and has never talked about her relationships.
Gibson won the 2022 British Soap Award for Best Young Actor for her portrayal of Kelly. Gibson has been revealed to be a new Doctor Who companion as Ruby Sunday on November 18, 2022.
