Mind-boggling optical illusion shows two circles which are perfectly round… although they look anything but

THIS is the mind-bending optical illusion which promises to drive you round the bend.

This seriously confusing image, showing a pair of psychedelic circles, has been baffling viewers all over the web.

At first glance, these circles look a bit off… but they’re actually perfectly round

Originally shared on Reddit, the picture messes with your mind by making the black-and-white circles look as if they are bent and distorted.

However, the optical illusion disguises the fact that the circles are actually completely round.

Shared with the caption: “Two perfectly round circles”, viewers have been struggling to wrap their heads around the bendy illusion.

As one commenter put it: “This f***s with me on so many levels.”

The striped pattern on the rings tricks your brain into thinking that the two circles are distorted, making the illusion hard to wrap your head around at first glance.

But just to prove we’re not messing with you, imposing two block-colour circles over the rings in the illusion shows that they were round all along.

Adding a pair of solid rings to the illusion proves that there was nothing off about the bendy-looking circles

This isn’t the first optical illusion which has left viewers scratching their heads this week.

We recently shared the mind-bending brain teaser which asks you to count how many legs a sketched elephant has.

It sounds simple, but the creature’s legs all seem to merge into one, thanks to a clever trick played on us by the artist.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that the elephant’s feet have been drawn between its actual legs, creating the impression that there are loads more legs than there should be.

These illusions are joined by the baffling viral photo showing a load of snakes which look more like doughnuts.

We also shared the wacky optical illusion involving a mirror in the middle of the woods.
